Employed Wabi Sabi aesthetics, Japanese metaphor and some creative double-problem solving solutions in this Highland Park Sushi Restaurant.
2 custom 6x6’ paintings representing “the fig” Since “ichijiku” means “fig” in Japanese, I simply pulled the colors from a fig’s interior and exterior and exploded them, with delicate care, onto these two hand stretched panels. The panels solved a secondary problem of acoustic baffles for the restaurant.

I was hired as lead designer for this established LA company. The goal was bringing digital textile printing into their luxury home and apparel world. Throughout the course of my employment I was moved between departments to design and to oversee production of all aspects of the project. My contributions were as follows:
Textile design for 3 tiered collections. Luxury, Home and Street.
Packaging design
Brand rewiring
Retail interior space, design and build

A proposed collaboration between the restaurants and cafes that share this back patio space in Highland Park. I was asked to design a more permanent pergola structure that would replace the somewhat dingy and weathered, fabric, shade-sails that currently provide the patio with its shade. The proposed structures and ideas were as follows:
Utilize the natural height of the space. An accentuated sense of height would serve as a metaphor for higher thought, elevated imagination and nobility of character.
Working within budget constraints I wanted to show a few combinations of material. Wood with fabric, wood with steel and wood with plastic. Situating these different materials to throw geometric shadows onto the floor from above.
A sense of communal gathering and idea exchange between Highland Park’s young creative class was kept at the forefront of the design process.

Shou Sugi Ban, also known as Yakisugi, is a traditional Japanese technique for preserving and finishing wood by charring its surface. The process involves carefully burning the wood to create a protective layer that enhances its durability, resistance to insects, and weather resistance. Chicago, Il.
Situated in the luxurious, boutique community of Glenco, Illinois, This unique business combines a generational pediatric practice with luxury and wellness spa treatments for the parents of those children. Divided into two halves , one for the parents of all ages and one for children of all ages. I have been lucky enough to receive commissions from Dr. Franzia to fill each side with playful murals and decorative effects. Creating a one of kind, safe experience for families that return for care throughout generations.

35mm photography taken in the hills of Alta Dena, Ca. Blending the organic patterns of indigenous plant life with liquid chemical pouring onto the prints. Fracturing the plane of illusion. An exaggeration of the embedded, “synthetic” color tones within the photos and the ghostly blurring and bleeding of the window surface make a poignant commentary on the media lens we’re encouraged to view nature through. And our “late-stage” relationship with quantum nature. A third presence emerges.
